2020 • After murder of George Floyd, ACDI/VOCA held a Town Hall meeting w/ staff • Leadership commits to more intentional DEI action • ACDI/VOCA hires DEI consultants Vantage Growth • 1st DEI survey launched
2021
• DEIEG (Now named AdVocate) formed, soon organizes itself into three subgroups: Talent Acquisition, Retention & Development, and Training • AdVocate meets regularly & monthly with Sponsor Group composed of Executive Management team and other senior leaders • Launched revised Harassment Prevention; building positive workplace and awareness • Follow-up DEI survey conducted
2022 • Applied DEI lens to 11 new or revised AV policies
• AV and Tanager sign Pledge for Racial and Ethnic Equity in Development, which the organization has supported in formulating since spring 2021 as member of core team • DEI initiatives added to corporate work plan
• Updated AV website to underscore DEI objectives and opportunities (i.e. Careers Page)
• Launched AdVocate Onboarding for new hires
• Launched monthly meet your AdVocate
• Added AdVocate workplan to corporate workplan
• Launched pilot DEI Small Discussion Groups
2023
• Developed home office DEI in a Multicultural Workplace Training with Better Org (Launch Q1 2023)
• All home office departments included DEI activities into their yearly workplans
INCREASING DIVERSITY OF STAFF Over the years ACDI/VOCA has improved on hiring minority employees across our organization and we will continue to strive to make the organization even more diverse so all employees feel that they belong.
